Best Bars in Carlsbad

Same Same

Same Same is one of our favorite bars, and it’s just a mile down the road in Carlsbad Village. Same Same is a craft Cocktail bar in the heart of Carlsbad that infuses tropical escapist vibes with North County’s classic alt culture. Their signature cocktail menu offers unique flavor combinations in a creative reimaging of familiar cocktails. Same Same isn’t your typical bar. It’s a funky watering hole with a dynamic food and cocktail menu.

The Compass

The Compass is part cocktail lounge and part comfort food haven. Established in 2011, the menu is the brainchild of master chef Brad Thomas, who prioritizes straightforward yet progressive dishes. With a menu full of comfort food items like bacon-wrapped corndogs, Kobe beef sliders, and cast-iron baked mac and cheese, plus a killer craft cocktail selection, the Compass is a great place to start your evening and one of our favorite bars in Carlsbad.

The Cayote Bar & Grill

The Cayote Bar & Grill has been a go-to watering hole and live music venue for Carlsbad residents since 1989. This downtown Carlsbad venue offers a lively night out seven days a week. On Mondays and Tuesdays, stop in for Karaoke or head to the Coyote Bar and Grill on the weekends to catch your favorite local band. With indoor and outdoor dance floors and bars, fire pits, and a ca-n’t-beat weekday happy hour menu, the Cayote Bar & Grill makes a strong case for the most fun bar in Carlsbad.

The Village Pub

Looking for dive bars in Carlsbad? Head to the Village Pub. The Village Pub is a no-frills bar with cheap beer and good vibes. The Village Pub is a staple of Carlsbad and is known for its “train special,” which includes $2 Coors, Bud Light, Budweiser, and Michelob Ultra every time a train rattles the bar.

Park 101

Park 101 may be the largest of all the bars in Carlsbad. This 8,000-square-foot two-story Carlsbad bar offers both indoor and outdoor seating and a rooftop deck with a view of the Pacific Ocean. In addition to an extensive cocktail menu, beer, and wine, Park 101 serves tasty barbeque. Whether you’re looking for a place to watch sports in the sun or catch a late-night DJ set, Park 101 is one of Carlsbad Village’s stand out establishments for a night out on the town. Park 101 is both kid and dog-friendly.

Crackheads

Don’t let the name scare you off, Crackheads is one of Carlsbad’s best outdoor bars. Crackheads is a full bar boasting an extensive craft cocktail menu, bottomless mimosas on weekends, gourmet breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, sliders, and so much more. If you’re looking for cold drinks, good food, and plenty of sunshine, head to Crackheads.
